Shincheonji - 51 - Calvin's Geneva Council and the Christian Council of Korea

The correct understanding of the Bible and of Shincheonji (The New Heaven and New Earth)
This site and all of its content has been written according to the Bible. Our purpose is to instruct all Christians in a deeper knowledge of God’s word and to lead them to a deeper faith.

What is the true meaning of Calvinism, which has predestination as one of its core doctrines? What are the true identities of the Presbyterian churches and the Christian Council of Korea, which have been founded on the teachings of Calvinism? There are many similarities between the two.
The Catholic Church was founded after Jesus' ascension, but Protestantism broke away from Catholicism through the work of Martin Luther. Afterward, John Calvin seized ecclesiastical authority in Geneva in 1541 through the Council of Geneva. Through that committee, he forced people to believe in his doctrine of predestination. He cruelly tortured, banished, and even killed those who disagreed with him (Stefan Zweig "The Right to Heresy: Castellio against Calvin"; Cho Chansun "The Sinful History of Christianity." Pyeongdan Publishing Company).
In the words of Jesus’ prophecy in Jn 16:1-2, Jesus said, "I have told you all these things so that you will not fall away. They will put you out of the synagogue, yet a time is coming when the one who kills you will think he is offering service to God." This message from Jesus is applicable to Calvin’s doctrines, ideology, and actions. The first of the Ten Commandments (God's and Jesus' words of promise) says, "You shall have no other gods before me" (Ex 20:3-6; Mat 22:37-38).
Adam and Eve in Genesis disobeyed God (Gn 3). They were eventually destroyed because of their betrayal and because they united with the serpent, the devil (Rv 12:9; Rv 20:2). What about Solomon? His worship of gentile gods brought destruction upon the Israelites (1 Kgs 11). The New Testament also prophesies that those who worship gentile gods and gentile pastors will not be able to escape from eternal punishment and destruction at the time of judgment (Rv 13; Rv 14).

(Ref: http://www.cck.or.kr; the Christian Press of Korea, Forum on April 24, 2008)
The Christian Council of Korea was originally established during Korea’s period of military dictatorship to serve the political aspirations of a certain politician. This politician wanted to mobilize the forces of conservatism that were working during President Park's third term.
During the most recent Japanese occupation of Korea, Presbyterian churches, which were founded by Calvin, allowed their congregations to bow to the Japanese emperor (a gentile) to begin every worship service. How is this different from the way Solomon worshipped gentile gods? This is an undeniable historical fact that can be verified by looking at the Korean conservative denomination called “Goshin.” Goshin emerged from the Korean Presbyterian Church because they did not approve of the conciliations the Korean Presbyterian Church made during the Japanese occupation. Please consider how Adam, Eve, and the people living at the time of Solomon's reign were destroyed by worshiping gentile gods. Do you think that there is salvation for the Korean Presbyterian Church, which unashamedly bowed down to gentile gods? Was the Christian Council of Korea established for Christians or for worldly politicians?
The Christian Council of Korea was established in 1989. In 1990, the organization appointed a certain man to serve as “Judge of Cults” and as “Vice Chairman” of a committee that creates strategies for use against cults in Korea. According to a newspaper article about him, this man completed only two years of elementary school, and used to be a member of a denomination that the Christian Council itself has labeled a cult. The Christian Council of Korea taught him and helped him to conduct cult education seminars nationwide. These seminars are aimed at forcing people to believe in his doctrines just as Calvin did. Since the seminars are full of criticism, persecution, and insults, it is clear that the Christian Council of Korea, has no love, no forgiveness, and no truth. These are the things Jesus commanded us to pursue, and since the CCK has followed another path, it has lost credibility among Protestant believers. This may be the reason the number of Korean Christians has recently fallen from 12 million to 8.6 million. Approximately one-third of Korean Christians have left their churches. Can we say that this is the work of the holy spirit? Throughout Christian history there has never been a time when this many believers have abandoned their faith so quickly. What has caused this tragedy? Shouldn’t the Christian Council of Korea be able to give a clear account for this decline? Shouldn’t they be held responsible for this situation.
If 3.5 million Korean Christians have left their churches since these seminars began, where did they go? Did they abandon their faith to return to the world? Did they start attending Catholic Churches? Did they move to Shincheonji Church of Jesus? Shouldn’t Christianity be filled with the holy spirit, love, forgiveness, and salvation?
The Christian Council of Korea has fabricated pure lies in an effort to persecute Shincheonji as a cult. One of their claims is that Shincheonji teaches people that Matt 24 is the only chapter regarding the end of the age. Shincheonji, however, has never made such a claim. The CCK has categorized Shincheonji as a cult because they want our congregation members to leave Shincheonji and start attending CCK member churches. This is also following the footsteps of Calvin. They also want to prevent their congregation members from leaving them in favor of Shincheonji. In spite of their attempts, true believers are following the commands of Jesus – commands to pursue love, forgiveness, and truth – and coming to Shincheonji. Please come and verify whether this is true. Those who work in the faith conversion programs disgrace people and even beat them to death when they refuse to convert. Their cruel actions, just like Calvin's, are the fulfillment of Jesus' prophecy of Jn 16:2.
The number of Korean Christians has been falling so dramatically because Christians are persecuting and cursing other Christians. The man appointed by the CCK as a "cult expert," is now working with another man, who was recently expelled from Shincheonji. Although CCK calls Shincheonji a cult, they now collaborate with one of the people we have expelled. Together they hold even more seminars claiming to help Christians distinguish cults. Amid all this cursing and persecution of other Christians, what will be the outcome for the Christian world?
If what Shincheonji claims is true, they should stop calling us a cult. This man who is now working with the CCK "cult expert" was expelled from Shincheonji for claiming that people must eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Shincheonji Chairman to attain salvation. He was expelled for claiming that people must pray in the name of the Shincheonji Chairman for their prayers to be answered. He was expelled from Shincheonji because he was spreading destructive lies. If the Christian Council of Korea has appointed these two people – the so-called cult expert and the person expelled from Shincheonji – to work for their organization, if they have acknowledged them as true believers, wouldn’t it be more correct to say that the Christian Council of Korea is itself the true cult? Those who belong to God will acknowledge the word of God and this claim as truth; those who belong to the devil will reject this claim. Why did the Christian Council of Korea appoint a man, whom they once categorized as a heretic, to be their cult expert? Please consider what has been discussed above and distinguish where God, salvation, and the truth really are. Anyone who knows and believes the Bible will distinguish right from wrong.

Shincheonji - 52 - Persecution and Blessings (The Good & Evil)

Shincheonji - 52 - Persecution and Blessings (The Good & Evil)

The correct understanding of the Bible and of Shincheonji (The New Heaven and New Earth)
This site and all of its content has been written according to the Bible. Our purpose is to instruct all Christians in a deeper knowledge of God’s word and to lead them to a deeper faith.

The criterion for judging good and evil is the Bible (Jn 10:35). The tree of life was a person in whom God resided (Jn 15:1-8); the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was a person in whom Satan resided (Dn 4:20-22).

Those who persecute, curse, and murder others are the ones in whom evil spirits dwell; those who bless are the ones in whom God dwells. In the biblical historical accounts, the Physical Israelites were persecuted and mistreated by Egyptians (Ex 1:10-14, 3:9-10). Jesus was also persecuted the most severely by his own, the Physical Israelites (Mt 27; Jn 5:15-18). In the same way, Shinchonji has been persecuted harshly by the Spiritual Israelites today. God was with Moses and Jesus, and as for today, God and the spirit of truth are with Shinchonji (Rv 21:1-3). There are persecutors. There are also people who receive persecution and yet bless, forgive, and love the persecutors (Mt 5:44). Throughout the 6,000 years of biblical history, Jesus and his disciples were persecuted the most excessively (Heb 11); Shinchonji, the Church of Jesus is the next one that receives the most intense persecution.

There are holy spirits as well as evil spirits in the spiritual world. The evil spirits originated from one of the spirits (angels) created by God. Not having kept positions of authority but having abandoned their own home, they have become evil spirits (Is 14:12-15; Jude 1:6). They have come to this world of humanity and enter people; this has caused people to do evil and turn into the wicked. Spirits, however, are invisible, untouchable, and scentless. If so, how can we distinguish those with holy spirits from those with evil spirits? Since the Bible tells us about good and evil, we can only distinguish good from evil using the Bible (1 Jn 4:1-6). This is why the Bible is vital for us. Just as trees are recognized by their fruit, spirits that are in people can be identified by people's deeds (Mt 7:15-20).

We believe that Moses was a pastor who belonged to God because the promise that God had made with Abraham was fulfilled through Moses. It is also known to us that Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, was an evil person because he interfered with God's work and his people. Jesus, too, came according to the promises that God had made with prophets of the Old Testament and fulfilled them accordingly. This is the reason for us to believe in Jesus that he was the promised pastor of God (Jn 5:39-40, Jn 19:30). It is made known to us that the Pharisees and priests at that time were the evil ones because they opposed Jesus, who was carrying out God's work. As for today, the pastor of Shinchonji, the Church of Jesus, has appeared according to the New Testament (Jn 14) and has been fulfilling the promises in the New Testament -- because of these reasons, it is definite that he is a pastor who belongs to God. Thus, anyone who interferes with the promised work of God and the work of Shinchonji are unfortunately evildoers.

The following are what we call "blessings": Jesus healed the ill (Jn 5), brought life to the dead (Jn 11), and fed many people with five loaves of bread and two fish (Mt 14:16-21). He also gave people the truth and the revealed word (Jn 17:7-8, 17), blessed them, and sacrificed himself for all people in the world. After doing all these, Jesus was resurrected and ascended to heaven (Mt 16).

In Luke 20, the priests of the Physical Israelites refused to believe in Jesus even though they knew that he was the heir. They insulted, cursed, and persecuted him just because they did not want the heir to take over the vineyard (church). They also fabricated lies to label him a heretic and eventually murdered him later -- this is what we call "curses."

From our standpoint as the Spiritual Israelites, who were real heretics at the first coming of Jesus? Who were the ones possessed by evil spirits? Were they not the priests at that time (Jn 8:40-44)? Were they not the people who sided with the priests, cursed, and insulted Jesus with them (Mt 27)? History and the Bible prove what they have done. Why did they do such wicked things? It was because they were controlled by the evil spirits in them. As for today, at the end of the Christian world, the New Testament (Revelation) also testifies that all nations will become Satan's world because of his deception (Rv 18). In other words, people will eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and receive teachings from Satan (Rv 2:14-15, 2:20-21). It is also recorded that all nations will worship Satan.

Today it has been about 2,000 years since Jesus prophesied future events. Let us examine what he prophesied. He remarked, "When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?" (Lk 18:8) The scripture also prophesies that two witnesses who stand before the Lord will get killed (Rv 11). In addition, destroyers will take over God's temple and stand on the holy place because of the increase of wickedness (Mt 24). It is also prophesied in Revelation 17 and 18 that all nations will eat food sacrificed to idols and be led astray, and that all nations will fall and marry the devil. Who kill the promised pastor, the messenger of Jesus, who stand before the Lord? Is it non-believers or gentiles? Is it pastors or regular congregation members? I'd like to ask everyone who reads this message: "Do people who persecute, curse, and kill the pastor promised in the New Testament belong to evil spirits or holy spirits?" Are they not the ones who act according to their own thoughts, not following the holy spirit and the scriptures? They carry out wicked deeds, controlled by evil spirits.

The pastor of Shinchonji, the Church of Jesus, has appeared according to the New Testament, and has been fulfilling accordingly. He has been proclaiming the revealed word that comes from above, not teachings of men, along with the physical fulfillment of the Bible (Rv 10). How can this act be wrong? The Bible points out today being identical to the days of Noah and Lot (Mt 24:37-39; Rv 11:8). We should consider what happened at the time of Noah and Lot. Furthermore, if anyone wants to be saved, one must side with those who are persecuted. Please think deeply about what happened in each generation.

The work of God's holy spirit is accompanied with forgiveness and love. The holy spirit works in the place where blessings, the revealed word, and God's word of testimony are found. On the contrary, the deeds of the devil are cursing, persecuting, measuring, lying, criticizing, murdering, etc. Those who perform such wickedness prove themselves to be the ones who did not keep the positions of their authority, and abandoned their own home. They also form a sect, carry out the work of deception, and commit sexual immortality with the devil (Jude 1:6, 17-19). Just like at the first coming, without receiving the revealed word (i.e. revelation) of Revelation (Rv 10), no one knows God and the one sent by God; no one can obtain salvation (Mt 11:27; Jn 17:3). Only if believers go to the place where the revealed word (i.e. revelation) is taught, can they attain salvation.

Shincheonji - 53 - Truth and Lies

The correct understanding of the Bible and of Shincheonji (The New Heaven and New Earth)
This site and all of its content has been written according to the Bible. Our purpose is to instruct all Christians in a deeper knowledge of God’s word and to lead them to a deeper faith.

Truth comes from God and lies come from the devil (Jn 8:41-47).

A pastor from Shincheonji (SCJ) recently participated in a debate with a certain pastor of another church. This pastor’s identity will not be revealed to avoid embarrassing him. The pastor from SCJ had no idea what the topic of the debate would be prior to his arrival. Instead of talking about biblical explanations or testimonies, however, the other pastor brought only slanderous attacks to the discussion table. This was not a respectful discussion between pastors. The pastor from SCJ, therefore, suggested to put an end to the slanderous attacks and instead to talk only about the Bible. The pastor from SCJ asked the other pastor to answer a set of 40 questions about the Bible before continuing the debate. Furthermore, the pastor from SCJ pointed out that slandering others is a way of degrading oneself as a pastor. Instead of continuing the discussion by answering the 40 questions, the other pastor left. Later he posted an article on the Internet claiming to have won the debate against SCJ without even mentioning the 40 questions that he failed to answer.

Later on, that pastor also filed a legal complaint at the police station against the pastor of SCJ. When the pastor from SCJ met the other pastor at the police station, they both agreed to meet alone to settle their differences in private the following day. Breaking his promise, the pastor who had filed the complaint came the next day with two other followers. The pastor from SCJ placed a recorder on the table and asked, “Why did you announce that you won our debate without answering the 40 questions I gave you?” The SCJ pastor continued, “I will give you another chance. Please try to answer just 10 questions.” Five minutes had not even passed before the other pastor claimed to have an appointment he just could not miss. He left without answering a single question. Who do you think won the debate?

Lies cannot become the truth and the truth cannot become lies. Instead of lying in order to please men, we should speak the truth to please God (refer to Gal 1:10). SCJ has received the revelation of heaven, which no one in heaven, on earth, or under the earth could know. Now, we are working diligently to testify the word of revelation according to God’s will and command (Rv 10). This is the appointed task God has given to SCJ. Only the one who receives the revelation can know the one true God (Mt 11:27). All believers can enter their hope of eternal life, by getting to know God and the one God has sent (Jn 17:3). Let us understand it, confirm‍ it, believe it, and truly become the people who attain salvation.

Shincheonji - 54 - The Definition Regarding the Lord's Prayer and the Aposles's Creed

The correct understanding of the Bible and of Shincheonji (The New Heaven and New Earth)
This site and all of its content has been written according to the Bible. Our purpose is to instruct all Christians in a deeper knowledge of God’s word and to lead them to a deeper faith.

The Definition Regarding Lord’s Prayer and the Apostles's Creed

Is the confession of the Apostles’ Creed and the inserting the word daegae (Korean word giving hearing feelings like “usually, generally, for the most part”) in the Lord’s Prayer biblical?
If one denies the Apostles’ Creed, is he considered as heretical?

Jesus said that if he leaves, night will come (Jn 9:4-5; 1 Thes 5:1-8). What is the night he is referring to? Let us understand and believe. Everyone will be judged by Jesus’ law that gives freedom.

 ● Words of warning believers must keep (Prv 1:1)
 1. Jn 10:35 If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came–and the Scripture cannot be broken…

 2. Jn 12:48 There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day.

 3. Gal 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!

 4. Rv 22:18-19 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

 5. Rv 20:12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

 6. Dn 7:25 He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws. The saints will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time.

 The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Daegae (being spread as pronunciation of "dekai"(china language) for long time, also added one from somebody long ago) for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

 The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven. He is seated at the right hand of the Father and he will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church (Korean version: public council, Sanhedrin), the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

The Lord’s Prayer was taught by Jesus and it is recorded in Matthew 6:9-13, but the Apostles’ Creed is not mentioned in any chapter or verse in the Bible.

Although the word daegae does not exist in the Lord’s Prayer, every denomination added it into the prayer and made their congregation members recite it during worship services. After Shinchonji Church of Jesus presented a refutation against the use of daegae in the Lord’s Prayer, many churches have removed it and recite the prayer without it. Adding the word daegae is a work of deception, which changes Jesus’ law (Dn 7:25). Who added the word daegae into the Lord’s Prayer, and what was the reason for it? Why was a false word added to the prayer? Who must take responsibility for this action?
It is against the law to add things (i.e. sowing the seed of weeds) (Mt 13:25).

Let us examine whether the Apostles’ Creed, which has been memorized and recited by believers of each denomination during worship service, is truly biblical or not.

It is understood that the reason why believers confess the Apostles’ Creed is to follow in the footsteps of the apostles’ confession of faith. With the Bible as the standard, let us find out if the apostles really confessed of their faith as stated in the Apostles’ Creed. If it is truly their confession, it must be in accordance with the Bible. If it is not, it means that it breaks the six laws listed above (“Words of warning believers must keep”).

The Scripture cannot be broken, nor can one add or take words away from it. If anyone says something that is not in the Bible (Gal 1:8) or does something that is not in accordance with the Bible, it is against the law, and it is the same as sowing the seed of weeds. It says that if anyone adds to or takes words away from Scripture, he will not be able to enter into the holy city, the kingdom of heaven, and will receive plagues (Rv 22:18-19). If a person lies, he is the devil (Jn 8:44). Anyone who adds something that wasn’t there to start with is a lying devil, and therefore, that person will not be able to enter into heaven. Deuteronomy 4:2 also tells us to obey God’s commands without adding or subtracting from it. If anyone says, “I believe in God. I love God,” but does not obey his commands, he is not a believer. If the Apostles’ Creed was truly the apostles’ confession of faith, it must be in accordance with the Bible.

 ● Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried
Did Jesus really suffer under Pontius Pilate? Was Pontius Pilate the one who crucified Jesus and killed him? Let us listen to the apostles’ testimonies.

If one looks at Peter’s testimony in Acts 2:22-23, he said that the Israelites, with the help of those who did not the law, put Jesus to death by nailing him to the cross. Also, in Acts 4:8-10, he said that the rulers and the elders of the people (religious leaders) crucified Jesus. In Acts 7:52, Stephen said that although the people of Israel heard that the righteous one would come, they killed him, and thus became the reality of those who were to betray and murder the righteous one.

The Apostles’ Creed, which is supposed to be the apostles’ confession of faith, states that Pilate killed Jesus. Is this consistent with the testimonies of the apostles? If one reads the entire New Testament, there is nothing recorded even similar to the content of the Apostle’s Creed. On the contrary, in Matthew 16:21, Jesus predicted that he would suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests, and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life. Are we going to believe in what Jesus and his disciples said, or in the Apostles’ Creed, which was written so that the Jewish leaders could avoid being blamed of their sin and conceal what they have done?

Next, let’s take a look at what John heard and testified regarding what Pilate said in John 19:6.  Pilate said that he found no basis for a charge against Jesus, and he made an effort to release him.  The Jews shouted out and said to crucify Jesus. Who really killed Jesus?

In Luke 23, Pilate quietly acknowledged Jesus as a king and said three times that he found no basis for a charge against him. In Matthew 27:24-25, Pilate declared Jesus’ innocence, took water, washed his hands, and said, “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” and told the people that it is their responsibility. The people responded and said they and their descendants will be responsible for his blood.

As could be seen from above, how can it be said Pilate was the one who killed Jesus?

From John 11:47 and on, it talks of how the chief priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the Sanhedrin, plotted to take the life of Jesus, and gave orders to arrest him once he was found because they feared everyone would believe in him if they let him go on doing what he was doing.

Today, as it was in the past, if a person does not have the word of revelation but only teaches man’s teachings, would he let the congregation members of his church go and learn the revelation (truth) from heaven? Wouldn’t he persecute instead? Although a person may claim to believe in Jesus, if he doesn’t know Jesus, who is the Word, he will not be able to welcome the Counselor, the Spirit of truth, who comes in the name of Jesus  (Mt 23:39; Jn14:16-17, 26). As in the time of the First Coming, the leaders will prevent the people from going out to him (Mt 23:13).

The group that God was with became the group persecuted by the evil ones, and the group that the devil was with became the group which persecuted as written in the Bible (Mt 5:10-12; 7:1-2). Whether it is the First or the Second Coming, the situation is the same. What did the top religious leaders at that time discuss with the elders early in the morning? In Matthew 27:1-2, it says the chief priests and the elders of the people met early and discussed about killing Jesus. In 1 Thessalonians 2:15-16, it is written, “the Jews killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and also drove us out. They displease God and are hostile to all men in their effort to keep us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved. In this way they always heap up their sins to the limit. The wrath of God has come upon them at last.” As could be seen from above, we examined whether the Apostles’ Creed is truly biblical. Who really killed Jesus? Was it Pilate? According to the Bible, it was not Pilate but the Jewish chief priests and elders. The Apostles’ Creed says, “…suffered under Pontius Pilate, crucified, died,” but this is a lie in an attempt by the Jews to put all the blame on Pilate after they killed Jesus (Acts 3:13-15).

 ● The holy catholic church (public council in Korean)
The Sanhedrin killed more than 5,000 Christians during the Dark Ages. This public council had never fulfilled its role as a public council.
Let us find out if this public council did holy things, and understand through the Bible.

Matthew 26:59 says that the public council at that time became a place where the chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false evidence against Jesus so they could put him to death. It became a place where false witnesses were gathered. Are not people gathering today as well to harm those who are proclaiming the revealed truth in justice and righteousness? In Matthew 27:1, it says that all the chief priests, the elders of the people, the teachers of the law–all of the Sanhedrin–met early in the morning, not to pray for God’s kingdom and righteousness, but to discuss how to bind Jesus and hand him over to the governor. Also, Acts 5:12-27 shows that it was the Sanhedrin which insulted and imprisoned the apostles.

The place Apostle Paul was dragged to was also the Sanhedrin (Acts 22:30). In Acts 23:12 and on, it says that the members of the public council formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul. It could be said this public council was a group bent on carrying out the devil’s work. This was the devil’s nest that hindered the preaching of the revealed truth, made up lies, and killed people. How can this kind of organization be considered as a holy public council?

 ● Belief in the life everlasting
While they confess to believe in everlasting life, if anyone mentions “eternal life,” they label him as a heretic and do not believe him. If they don’t believe in everlasting life, for whom and to whom are they making this confession? The devil? The public council? We would like to ask the believers who believe in God and his Word. To say what Jesus, the apostles, and the Bible did not say or to make up something and add to or take away something from the Bible is the same action as changing the set times and the laws God testified about in Daniel 7:25. It is the same as preaching a gospel other than the ones the disciples preached, and whoever does this will be condemned (Gal 1:8). Revelation 22:18-19 says that anyone who adds to or takes words away from the Bible is breaking the law, and will receive curses and plagues. The people who recite the Apostles’ Creed as their confession of faith have ignored the Scriptures and have added to and taken away from it. Instead of being stubborn, everyone needs to repent in order to be saved.

Now is the time we need to recall the words of Matthew 24, the events of Revelation 6-18, the words which say that all nations are deceived just as it was in the days of Noah and Lot, and the words of warning which say that all nations have been destroyed because of the wine of adultery (the devil’s lies). We must remember that everyone will be judged according to their deeds as written in the books (of the Bible) (Rv 20:12). Lies come from the devil. To spread lies is to sow the seed of weeds, and those who received the lies have received the seed of the devil. Thus, they must be born again by the word of truth.

 ● Conclusion regarding the Apostles’ Creed
As could be seen in Matthew 27, the Jewish chief priests and elders asked Pilate to kill Jesus, but Pilate acknowledged Jesus as a king and announced his innocence three times. The Jews told Pilate that they and their descendants would be accountable for the cost of the sin of killing Jesus. Pilate washed his hand in front of the Jews and handed Jesus over to them.

The Apostles’ Creed and the word daegae in the Lord’s Prayer were not spoken by the apostles, yet people have been deceived into thinking that it is the apostles’ confession of faith. The Catholic church, which had become corrupt, and the Jews, who thought they were superior to others, put the blame on Pilate in order to avoid the blame of having killed Jesus, as recorded in Matthew 27. The Protestants received this tradition without questioning it and have been keeping it.
Because believers did not know about this fact, they have been believing and confessing the Apostles’ Creed. This kind of action is the same sin as the Jews, the chief priests, and the elders at that time crucifying Jesus (Acts 3:13-15). Believers have not been able to understand in accordance with the Bible and have thus been deceived. Therefore, they must truly repent, be born again, believe in accordance with what is written in the Bible, and receive salvation.

It was not Pilate who was responsible for killing Jesus, but rather the chief priests, the elders, and the Jews, who met at the public council and discussed about how to kill Jesus. From its very beginning, Shinchonji, which has received the revelation from heaven, has never included the word daegae when reciting the Lord’s Prayer, and it has never recited the Apostles’ Creed. Which do you think Jesus and the Bible will acknowledge as correct – Shinchonji or the Protestant churches?

Believers who have discernment and who truly believe in the Bible must make a judgment for themselves. Since the word daegae and the Apostles’ Creed are words of deception and words that are added to the Bible, Christians should not confess and recite it.

Shincheonji - 55 - Who are the Betrayers, the Destroyers, and the Savior (The One Who Overcomes)?

The correct understanding of the Bible and of Shincheonji (The New Heaven and New Earth)
This site and all of its content has been written according to the Bible. Our purpose is to instruct all Christians in a deeper knowledge of God’s word and to lead them to a deeper faith.

Who are the Betrayers, the Destroyers, and the Savior
(The One Who Overcame)?

Do today’s believers know the true identities of the betrayers, destroyers, and the savior, the one who overcomes (refer to 2 Thes 2:1-12)?

The prophecies of the NT proclaim these three entities and knowing them is mastering the Bible. Furthermore, knowing the true identities of these three three entities is critical for salvation. No one can claim, “I am already saved,” or “I belong to an orthodox church,” if these three entities have not yet appeared. People who claim to have received the holy spirit without mastering the deep things of heaven (1 Cor 2:10) are liars working to deceive vulnerable people who lack knowledge of the Bible.

Since the prophecies of the NT point to these three entities, not knowing their identity is the same as not knowing the prophecies of the Bible. People who do not know the prophecies of the NT will not recognize these three entities even after seeing them with their own eyes. People who are unaware of the prophecies can never believe in the prophetic fulfillment. These three entities – the betrayers, the destroyers, and the savior – can each be identified by their actions, because, by appearing, they fulfill the promises written about them in the Bible.

Jesus claimed that he had completed the work God gave him to do (Jn 17:4), and he said, “Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me, but if you do not believe me, believe because of the miraculous deeds themselves,” (Jn 14:11). He claimed that the deeds that the Father assigned him to complete testified that the Father had sent him (Jn 5:36). He also stated that the one who believes in him will perform greater deeds than he had performed (Jn 14:12). If the work of Jesus at the time of the first coming was a beginning, then the work at the second coming is the greater work of fulfilling everything (Rv 21:6). In every generation, God, who made the prophecies, came to fulfill his prophecies and give salvation to those who believed.

The betrayers promised in the NT are God’s chosen people – the Spiritual Israelites. The destroyers are false pastors who belong to the devil (i.e. the dragon, the beast, and the serpent). The savior promised in the NT is the true pastor who appears after the betrayers and the destroyers (Mat 23; Jn 10).

The promised pastor of the NT is described in several ways: the one who gives food at the proper time (Mat 24:45-47); the one who overcomes; the one who will sit with Jesus on his throne (Rv 3:20-21); the Counselor through whom the spirit of truth, who comes in the name of the Lord, works (Jn 14:16-17, 26); the one who overcomes the group of the red dragon with seven heads and ten horns (Rv 12:1-11); the one who eats the opened scroll from heaven and preaches the word (Rv 10:1-11); the one on whom the name of God, the name of the holy city of New Jerusalem that descends from heaven, and the new name of Jesus are written (Rv 3:12); and the one who overcomes and inherits everything as the son of God (Rv 21:7).

There are many descriptions, but all of them point to one person. It was the same for Jesus. There were many prophetic descriptions of Jesus in the OT, but God only sent one savior to fulfill them all (Jn 5:39). Other pastors ministering at the time of the first coming could not claim to be the savior. Their appointed tasks came to an end when Jesus appeared (Mat 11:13; Lk 16:16). In the same way, only one pastor is promised by the Lord in the NT – the one who overcomes. The Bible even prophesies that the appointed tasks of the churches and their pastors will come to an end just the time of the first coming (Mat 13; Rv 6). Since this is God’s plan, everyone must obey the word in an effort to attain salvation. When today’s pastors oppose the pastor promised and sent by Jesus, they are, in effect, opposing both God and Jesus.

Both the Old and New Testaments are full of prophecies. The one who prophesies [God] always comes to fulfill the prophecies and then testify about the physical fulfillment. Jesus testified that John the Baptist was Elijah because the spirit of Elijah, who was promised to come, had come and had united with John (Mat 11:10-14, 17:10-13; Lk 1:13-17). In a similar way, the spirit of God came and united with Jesus (Jn 1:32), which is why he came in the name of God (Jn 5:43). God and Jesus were one (Jn 10:30), and anyone who saw Jesus saw the Father (God). Anyone who believed in Jesus believed in God (Jn 12:44-45). This was the fulfillment of the OT prophecies (Jn 19:30).

Jesus prophesied in the NT about someone who would come in the name of the Lord (Mat 23:39). Jesus referred to John the Baptist as Elijah because John came in the name of Elijah. Jesus also said that, because he had come in God’s name, anyone who saw him (Jesus) saw God the Father (Jn 14:9). Considering these words of Jesus, if the spirit of truth (i.e. the Counselor who comes in the name of the Lord – Jn 14:16-17, 26) dwells within a person, why is it wrong to call that person the Counselor? Regarding the person used by spirit of the Counselor, who comes in the name of the Lord, if it is wrong to call this person the Counselor, then it is also wrong to say that John the Baptist was Elijah and it is wrong to say that seeing Jesus was the same as seeing the Father. If it is wrong, then the words of Jesus’ testimony were lies.

The true word is the word spoken according to what is seen and heard in heaven. Jesus said in Jn 8:55, “Yet you do not know him, but I know him. If I were to say that I do not know him, I would be a liar like you. But I do know him, and I obey his teaching.” If a person who had received the spirit of the Counselor were act according to his own will by denying his identity as the Counselor to avoid persecution, he would become a betrayer like Eve, and the spirit of truth (the spirit of the Counselor) would leave him. Religion was created by the holy spirit of God. Anyone who does not have the holy spirit is not a person of true religion; they are mere flesh. According to the Bible, anyone who does not have the spirit of Christ does not belong to Christ (Rom 8:5-11).

Regardless of the level to which a person is ignorant about the Bible, 1 Cor 2:10 helps us understand both ourselves and others. The Bible says that the holy spirit (the Lord’s spirit) understands the deepest things of heaven. No one who lacks knowledge of the NT prophecies, which recount the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, can have the holy spirit; he or she is mere flesh. How can the flesh fathom the work of the holy spirit? This is why the Bible says that those born of the flesh persecute those born of the holy spirit (Gal 4:29).

Shinchonji Church of Jesus has mastered the Bible, and we teach the theology of revelation in a way that answers the questions of who, what, when, where, why, and how. Please come, listen, and judge for yourself.

If the time of the first coming was the beginning, the introduction to God’s kingdom, then the time of the second coming is the time of the completion and perfection of that kingdom. Recently, there was an article in a Christian newspaper entitled “Rearranging our present course through the Bible” under a section called “The Declaration of 140 Korean Theologians” (The International Conference Hall, Korea Press Center, June 2, 2008). Furthermore, the Council of the Church of Christ co-sponsored a symposium in May 2008 with Seoul Christian University at Love of Jesus Church in Samjeong-dong, Seoul, Korea. The symposium was called the “2008 International Restoration.” Theologians and pastors from Korea and elsewhere gathered to proclaim this message: “Let us go back to the word. Let us go back to the early Christian church. We need to overcome denominationalism. We should preach the word given by the holy spirit. We should know the revelation of God." Regardless of whether you look at the first coming when the OT was fulfilled or the second coming when the NT is fulfilled, the Lord promises one person through whom to fulfill his prophecies. God opened the sealed scroll – the scroll that no one in heaven or on earth knew – and gave it to Jesus (Is 29:9-13; Hab 2:2-3; Ez 1-3). Just as Jesus received the opened scroll and proclaimed the words of revelation (Mat 15:24, 11:27), Jesus opens sealed scroll of the NT and gives it to his promised pastor (Rv 5, 6, 8, 10). Therefore, this one pastor is the only one who is able to testify about the prophecies of Revelation and their physical fulfillment.

Pastors and believers at the time of the NT’s fulfillment must hear, believe, and obey the words of the pastor who receives the revealed word. In doing so, they will obtain salvation. In other words, the pastors of the world do not know the prophecies of the NT, which are the secrets of the kingdom of heaven. Just because they study at seminaries does not mean that they know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven. God, the new Jerusalem that descends from heaven, Jesus, and the revealed word are with the promised pastor, the one who overcomes (Rv 3:12).There is only one place to which all nations must come and worship God. Only those who read, understand, and believe the words of the NT will agree with what has been written above (Rv 15:2-4). Anyone who does not truly believe the words of the Bible will disagree.

Those who verify for themselves that these words are true and believe them will receive the blessing of salvation.

Shincheonji - 56 - Heaven – the Kingdom of God

The correct understanding of the Bible and of Shincheonji (The New Heaven and New Earth)
This site and all of its content has been written according to the Bible. Our purpose is to instruct all Christians in a deeper knowledge of God’s word and to lead them to a deeper faith.

The objective of carrying out a life of faith is to attain heaven and eternity. We know that God, Jesus, and their angels are in heaven, but where is heaven? No one in this world knows the kingdom of heaven except the people of Shinchonji Church of Jesus.

Buddhists shave their heads and try to abandon their worldly lives by going to temples in the mountains. They do not do this because they love visiting temples; they do it to be with Buddha. Similarly, the monks and nuns of Catholicism leave their homes, abandoning their worldly lives, to enter monasteries and convents. They do not do it just to live apart from from the world; they do it to be with God. The question, however, is whether they will find God and Buddha in those places.

God, the creator of heaven and earth, was in the Garden of Eden, but he left after his people sinned (Gn 6:1-3). When Jesus returns to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him (Heb 9:28), God, who had left his people because of their sins, will return with Jesus.

God, his angels, and the kingdom of heaven, which were promised in the OT, came to Jesus. Physical Israel (represented by the sun, moon, stars – Gn 37:9-11) became as dark as night (their light died out). This is why they hated, slandered and persecuted God and heaven by refusing to go to Jesus. If God and heaven were with Jesus, then going to Jesus was going to God and heaven (Jn 14:6). Because they had grown as dark as night when the light within them died, they could not understand even through the true light was shining upon them (Jn 1:5). Today, as the NT is being fulfilled, God, Jesus, and heaven come to the one who overcomes according to Rv 3:12. If Spiritual Israel truly believes in the Bible and in God, if they truly seek God, Jesus, and heaven, they should go to the place prophesied in the NT where God, Jesus, and heaven can be found. That place is the location of the one who overcomes – the promised pastor. The one who overcomes will sit with Jesus on the throne of God and Jesus. He will receive the iron scepter to rule all nations and the white stone with which to carry out judgment. He will receive the food that leads to eternal life, which he gives to the members of the 12 tribes sealed with God’s seal (Rv 2-3). Those who believe in the Bible will confirm‍ whether this is true, believe, and then receive salvation. On the other hand, those who refuse to believe in the Bible will persecute those who do.

Shincheonji - 58 - The Church: It Teaches the Way to the God of Heaven

The correct understanding of the Bible and of Shincheonji (The New Heaven and New Earth)
This site and all of its content has been written according to the Bible. Our purpose is to instruct all Christians in a deeper knowledge of God’s word and to lead them to a deeper faith.

Religions like Christianity, Buddhism, and Confucianism are similar in that they all attempt to teach the path to heaven. The way to heaven, however, is known only to the one who has been to and come back from heaven. Since the way to heaven is not the way of the world, it is not something that just anyone can know or teach. God sends a messenger in every generation to work on his behalf. A spirit is sent from heaven to earth to teach and lead God’s messenger. Since heaven is where God and God’s kingdom are, believers with their hopes set on heaven must find it no matter where it might be. Can a pastor who has never been to heaven lead anyone else there?

Jesus came from heaven, returned there, and he will come from heaven once again (Jn 3:34, Jn 14:1-3). When and where will he appear? If he appears today, will anyone be able to see him and believe in him? Speaking from one’s own wisdom, knowledge, judgment, and thoughts is like spitting in the ocean to try and raise the tide. Physical thoughts and knowledge are different from spiritual thoughts and knowledge. Until the revelation (Matt 11:27), mentioned in the OT (Is 29:9-14; Hab 2:2-3; Ez 1, 2, 3), came, all the religious leaders of the time taught only the teachings of men. This is why no one could understand Jesus’ revelation (Mat 22:29).

Similarly, from the time of the first coming to now, when the revelation of the NT has come (Rv 5, 6, 8, 10), all pastors have been preaching only the teachings of men. Today, every pastor has his own interpretation of Revelation that springs from his own mind. This proves that men’s teachings have been taught until today. Anyone who believes in the true faith, the true heaven, and true eternal life must acknowledge the Bible and its fulfillment. They must accept the true revelation that Shincheonji is testifying. Instead of slandering us and calling us a devil-worshiping demon-possessed cult, in the same way the prophets and apostles of the past were persecuted, all believers should truly repent of their biblical ignorance and other wrongdoings. Blaming and persecuting others without knowing the Bible’s true meaning will not take you to heaven or grant you eternal life. You cannot make your thoughts and opinions true just because you want them to be true. Even pastors and theologians must learn the things they do not know to be saved.

The Bible is the standard of our faith. Since Shincheonji alone teaches the word of revelation, even if people want to repent and base their faith on the Bible, their efforts are futile unless they go through Shincheonji. If Shincheonji approached people today the way Jesus did at the first coming, this generation would be in an uproar. Do you remember what Jesus said at the first coming? If you believe what he said, then you will find what Shincheonji says faultless. Persecuting someone or some group as a cult without any biblical basis reveals a deep spiritual problem only in the person who is doing the persecuting. Shincheonji is doing its best to proclaim the truth of the prophecies of the Bible and their fulfillment. Those who receive the word of revelation and the testimony, keep it, and reach salvation are truly blessed (Rv 1:1-3).

Shincheonji - 59 - The Promised Pastor of The Old and New Testament

The correct understanding of the Bible and of Shincheonji (The New Heaven and New Earth)
This site and all of its content has been written according to the Bible. Our purpose is to instruct all Christians in a deeper knowledge of God’s word and to lead them to a deeper faith.

The Promised Pastor of the Old and New Testament

In the Old Testament Malachi chapter 3 verse 1, God promised (predicted) to send his messenger who would prepare the way before him and those who were seeking will come to his temple. He also begot his son, gave him the inheritance and the iron scepter, warned all the people to be wise, and to kiss the son (Ps 2:7-12). The promised son was born in Bethlehem (Mi 5:2) and was born by a virgin (Is 7:14). He bear his cross for absolving all the people of their sins (Ps 40, 41), granted them salvation, and promised to plant the seed of the heavenly gospel (Jer 31:27).

After about 600 to 700 years from the time when the word was prophesied (Jer 31:22), the promised son was born like the prophecy, God was with him, and he fulfilled every prophecy of the Old Testament (Jn 19:30). He overcame the world (John 16:33), created the 12 tribes of spiritual Israel after ending physical Israel and Moses’s Law, and promised to come again to harvest the good seeds he had sowed (Mt 13:30, 36-43).

We have to observe carefully of who gave the New Testament to whom not by the mind of a treacherous courtier who just flatters the history of Jesus’s first and second coming (the accomplishment of the Old and New Testament), but with a moral mind to believe the promise itself.

First of all, God opened the history of the seven lampstands which would prepare the way before his son and have Jesus accomplish the history (Rv 1:12-20), have the one who overcomes born by the woman (Rv 12), and choosing him as his son to follow his inheritance (Rv 21:7). Jesus opened the sealed scroll and had the one who overcomes to eat it (Old Testament : Is 29:9-14; Hb 2:2-3; Ez 1,2,3; Mt 15:24 / New Testament : Rv 5, 6, 8, 10) and prophesy again to the chosen people (many peoples, nations, languages and kings, Rv 10:11, 13:7). According to Revelation chapter 2 and 3, God gave to the one who overcomes the eternal food, the judging stone, and the iron scepter as he had given to Jesus before. God also made him to be his temple by having the Holy City, New Jerusalem descend  down upon him, and gave him the right to sit with Jesus on Jesus’s throne just as Jesus had overcome and sat down with his Father on his throne.

Just Like Jesus who had overcome the world, completed the law, prophecy, and the prophets (Lk 16:16) creating the 12 tribes of spiritual Israel in his first coming, the one who overcomes today also completed the prophecy and the prophets creating the 12 tribes of the new spiritual Israel (Rv 12, 7).

As Jesus had planted the heavenly gospel’s seeds (Mt 13) according to the prophecy of the Old Testament (Jer 31:27), today the one who overcome came like a thief, harvested and sealed the people, and created the 12 tribes of God’s kingdom with them (Mt 24:29-31, 1 Thes 5:1-11). As Jesus had preached that the kingdom of heaven was near (Mt 4:17), today the chosen pastor, the one who overcome has also been preaching that the kingdom of heaven is near (Lk 13:28-30).

we need to confirm‍ and realize the history, prophecies, and fulfillments of Jesus’s first and second coming through the Bible and believe the fulfillment accordance to the Bible. Not being able to realize the Bible though you are looking at it is a serious illness in faith, and is a big sin.

Jesus purchased men through his blood and made a new promise in his first coming (Mt 26:26-29), he established God’s kingdom and priests that are the 12 tribes in his second coming (Rv 5:9-10, Rv 7, Rv 14), and is creating the heavenly people who are in white robes by cleaning their sins with his blood. Those who believes in  the promise, the prophecy of the Bible, can be saved by first confirm‍ing and believing the accomplishments of the Bible. Learn the promised new song, and become the promised people, heavenly people (Rv 14:1-5).

Shincheonji - 60 - Eternal life in the spirit & in the flesh

The correct understanding of the Bible and of Shincheonji (The New Heaven and New Earth)
This site and all of its content has been written according to the Bible. Our purpose is to instruct all Christians in a deeper knowledge of God’s word and to lead them to a deeper faith.

Is Jesus' promise concerning eternal life spiritual or physical?

Jesus stated that the scriptures cannot be broken (Jn 10:35). Today all believers must base their faith on the Bible. We should not follow the example of the believers in Calvin’s time who surrendered their faith in the Bible when they were pressured by the ruling ecclesiastical authorities of the day. We must overcome just like Stephen the martyr (Acts 7:51-60). Jesus never spoke a single lie, he spoke only the truth (Jn 8:45-55). Just as Jesus did, true believers must hold fast to the word of truth regardless of any persecution we might receive. Like Jesus, we must always speak the truth regardless of our circumstances.

Just like the false pastors of the first coming and the false pastors of Calvin’s time did, some of today’s pastors abuse their authority in an attempt to force people to bend to their will. These leaders threaten to kill the spirits of anyone who resists; they abuse their people both mentally and physically. There have even been cases of murder.

Let us consider what happened recently in Ulsan, South Korea. A woman from Ulsan was murdered by her husband because she refused to follow his orders to abandon her faith during a session of forced conversion education. Religious education should never involve any compulsion, oppression, or threats. No one can force anyone to follow any specific doctrines. Isn’t it better to help people to see and believe the truth as they are enlightened by the words of promise. True faith does not include forced or oppressive indoctrination.

Now let us consider eternal life. Although Jesus promised heaven and eternal life in the NT, the Jewish priests and elders at the time of the first coming refused to believe and attacked Jesus instead. They considered Jesus' claims about eternal life to be nonsense. They argued over eternal life and responded to Jesus by saying, “Both Abraham and the prophets died, and yet you say, ‘If anyone obeys my teaching, he will never experience death.’ You aren't greater than our father Abraham who died, are you?” (Jn 8).

Clearly, the issue of eternal life was a point of controversy between Jesus and the Jews. Whose teachings were correct? If Jesus had denied eternal life, he would have been a liar. The fact that confirmed the existence of eternal life meant he was keeping God’s word and was speaking on behalf of God (Jn 5:19-20, 12:49-50, 17:7-8). Just as Jesus spoke on behalf of God (1 Jn 2:1), we, too, must speak on behalf of Jesus. If a person speaks according to the Bible, that person speaks on behalf of God and Jesus. Refusing to believe in any words that are spoken on behalf of God and Jesus is refusing to listen to God’s and Jesus’ words. This is just like what the Jews did when they refused to listen to Jesus; they refused to listen to God (refer to Jn 12:44). If anyone wants to deny another person’s testimony, they should do so through the scriptures.

When considering what Jesus said about eternal life, would Adam and Eve have returned to dust if they had not eaten from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that brought them death (Gn 3:19)? Did God intend for his people, who were created in his image, to become sick, suffer, and eventually die? No. Death is result of sin (James 1:15), and it is because of sin that God, who is life, could no longer be with his people. God left his people and this limited their lifespan (Gn 6:1-3).

God was able to come to Jesus because he had no sin (Lk 3:22). Jesus then bore the cross to solve the problem of sin for the rest of us (Jn 1:29; 1 Pt 2:24). Afterwards, the spirit of God, who had once left people, came back to Jesus' disciples because their sins had been atoned (Acts 2:1-4).

Jesus, who had raised Lazarus from the dead, resurrected from the dead himself and appeared before his disciples. Jesus made it known to them that he was flesh and not spirit when he told them to touch the nail marks in his hands (Lk 24:36-43; Jn 20:26-27). Do you believe in these words? Adam lived almost 1,000 years after he had sinned. Rv 20 states that those who take part in the first resurrection become God's priests and reign as kings for 1,000 years. Do you believe in these words?

Shinchonji Church of Jesus has spoken the recorded words of Jesus on his behalf. We have never spoken of physical eternal life without firmly basing our words on the Bible. We have only spoken according to what is written in the Bible. Just like Jesus' disciples (Jn 11:25-27), Shinchonji believes in the words of Jesus. The people who persecute us, however, claim that Shinchonji's idea that the flesh can live forever is not based on the Bible. This is simply another scheme to persecute Shinchonji by telling lies just like the Jews did at the time of the first coming. Is this not the same as the situation regarding the Apostles' Creed? The apostles never wrote the Apostles' Creed. Others created it on their own and forced all Christians to confess it.

What are these things that Shinchonji Church of Jesus claims about eternal life that are mentioned in the Bible? According to the scriptures, God is the only one who can give or take away life (Job 1:21). Even though God, who is life, left Adam, Adam was able to live nearly 1,000 years. Soon after that, however, the human lifespan was decreased to approximately 70 years with the accumulation of original sins, hereditary sins, and personal sins (Ps 90:10). Thus, as sin accumulated, our lifespan dropped. If our sins are atoned and God is able to return to his people once more, people will be able to live longer. Jesus talked about eternal life because he was able to solve the problem of sin and make it possible for people to reunite with God, who is life. Let us learn more about how the scriptures testify about eternal life.

♠ The Bible’s teachings regarding eternal life

•         Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even if he dies, and the one who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” She replied, “Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God who comes into the world.” (Jn 11:25-27)

•         For those who live according to the flesh have their outlook shaped by the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their outlook shaped by the things of the Spirit. You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this person does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is your life because of righteousness. Moreover if the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will also make your mortal bodies alive through his Spirit who lives in you. (Rom 8:5-11)

•         In a moment, in the blinking of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. Now when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will happen, “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” (1 Cor 15:52-54)

•         And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Look! The residence of God is among human beings. He will live among them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not exist any more – or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the former things have ceased to exist.” (Rv 21:3-4)

God fulfilled what he prophesied to Abraham through Moses (Gn 15:13-14; Ex 12). At that time, all the Egyptians hated Moses and went against him, despite the fact that God was with him. God fulfilled the prophecies he had made through the OT prophets when he came and worked through Jesus (Jn 19:30). Similarly, at that time, all the Physical Israelites tried to get rid of Jesus despite the fact that God was with him. Jesus, who made a covenant (prophesied) roughly 2,000 years ago, has come to Shinchonji today and is fulfilling his prophecies (Rv 21:1-6). Currently, the Spiritual Israelites are fighting against and trying to destroy Shinchonji. In every generation, the people of the previous generation always persecute the place that works to create a new generation – the place where God dwells.

Gal 4:29 says that those born of the flesh persecute those born of the holy spirit. Anyone who believes in God and his word must use the Bible to recognize the place where God dwells. Is he with the persecutors or with those who are persecuted? As they were waiting for the Messiah (their savior), the Physical Israelites fasted and prayed three times a day. They were so zealous for God, but in spite of their zeal, they refused to believe in the true Messiah when he came. Instead, they persecuted and even killed him.

Today, too, Jesus, who gave us so many prophecies in the NT, comes as a spirit (just as God did in the first coming) and fulfills his prophecies. People, however, do not realize this and persecute us instead. How is this different from the times of Noah, Lot, and the time of Jesus' first coming? Christians who believe in the words of promise, however, will not hesitate to come to Shinchonji, verify whether Jesus' words have been fulfilled, believe in their fulfillment, and, in doing so, receive salvation.

Shinchonji believes in the words recorded in the Bible and we speak those words on behalf of God and Jesus. Those who oppose the word do so because they do not believe in the Bible. Shinchonji has never mentioned physical eternal life without basing our claims on the Bible. On the contrary, we simply give people biblical references like the ones listed above and tell them to believe what the Bible tells them. Just as people persecuted Jesus at the time of the first coming because he talked about eternal life, people are persecuting us because we talk about eternal life. These people should stop this persecution. Without physical and spiritual eternal life, there is no reason to live a life of faith. Just like Jesus’ disciples, we believe in heaven and eternal life because Jesus spoke of them (Jn 11:25-27). We also believe that the prophecies will be fulfilled according to the Bible.

We would like to ask a biblical question to those who persecute Shinchonji: What was God's objective in recording the Bible? We would like to hear their response to this question. Shouldn’t everyone living a life of faith without knowing the answer to this question try to learn? Isn’t this one of our duties as a believer? Shinchonji is trying to reveal God's will to all believers.

Shincheonji - 61 - The Savior who Blesses People & Persecutors who Curse Others

The correct understanding of the Bible and of Shincheonji (The New Heaven and New Earth)
This site and all of its content has been written according to the Bible. Our purpose is to instruct all Christians in a deeper knowledge of God’s word and to lead them to a deeper faith.

The Savior Who Blesses People & Persecutors Who Curse Others

The New Testament prophesied about the appearance of both persecutors and the savior. Just as the first coming fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies (Jn 19:30), these two groups will act according to the New Testament prophecies when the time of fulfillment comes. How, then, can we distinguish the persecutors from the savior? The Bible says in Matt 7:15-20 that we will be able to recognize them by their fruit (actions).

Why do persecutors persecute and slander others (Mt 5:10-12, 7:1-5)? According to 2 Thes 2:9-10, people who have evil spirits inside them come displaying all kinds of counterfeit signs and miracles in accordance with the work of Satan. The one with the God’s holy spirit comes in accordance with righteousness and truth. If a person’s spirit is dead, he or she will be unable to understand.

God’s son Jesus testified about God, God’s word, heaven, and eternity (Jn 12:49-50). These are the kinds of things for which believers should hope (Jn 6:51-57, 8:45-55; 1 Cor 15:51-54; Rv 21:1-6). In the time of the first coming, the Jews slandered Jesus by calling him a cult leader, Beelzebub, and demon-possessed just because he proclaimed the truth about heaven and eternity (Matt 12:22-28; Acts 24:5). Which spirits do you think were working through these people?

We must see God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit according to the Bible. In the scriptures, we can also see two witnesses who stand before the Lord of the earth (Zec 4; Rv 11) and a son who sits on the throne of Jesus (Rv 3:21). We must understand that this son is the one who overcomes. He is not God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit. We must not misunderstand this point or else we will commit the sin of blasphemy against the Spirit.

A man named Mr. Shin has betrayed Shincheonji and united with the Christian Council of Korea. They are making up all kinds of lies to persecute Shincheonji chairman Lee Man-Hee. It is their wish to make the world see our chairman as a crazy person who thinks he is Jesus or the spirit of God. This all stems from their ignorance of the Bible. Jesus Christ is the founder of Christianity. Likewise, Jesus is also the founder of Shincheonji Church of Jesus. In spite of all our attempts to correct them, they continue to tell lies making Lee Man-Hee out to be the founder and saying that our congregation members can be saved by eating his flesh and drinking his blood. They claim that Shincheonji people even pray in the name of Lee Man-Hee. These are all baseless lies.

Lots slanderous comments have been posted on the Internet. Who is doing such a thing? Where does the Bible say people should do this? The Bible tells us that those who lie belong to Satan and that we should not judge others (Mt 5:10-12, 7:1-5; Jn 8:44). These slanderous comments, therefore, must have been made by those who belong to Satan. Jesus commanded us to love, forgive, and bless others. Is that what they are doing? They call themselves orthodox. They claim to be saved before the prophecies of betrayal, destruction and salvation are fulfilled. These are pure lies, but this is why Jesus prophesied that there would be lots of deception and many trials on the earth at the end of the age (Mt 24:3-4; Rv 3:10). The slanderous words that are posted on the Internet are lawless acts for which these people will be judged in the end. Believers should be able to discern whether these comments came from God or Satan by using the Bible as a standard. The pastors of the world fight against Shincheonji, not because it is a cult, but because do not want their congregation members to leave them and follow the real truth.

According to a poll conducted by the National Statistical Office of Korea, the number of Christians in Korea was estimated to be 8.6 million. This number reveals a dramatic decline when compared to the 12 million members about which Korean churches previously boasted. What do you think happened? The beginning of this decline can be traced back to the 90’s, when the Christian Council of Korea began to crack down on churches they felt were cults. They held seminars for pastors and lay people that were led by pastors who claimed to specialize in identifying cults. Many of the 3 million Christians who have left Presbyterian churches moved to Catholic churches. Others have come to Shincheonji, and still others have completely abandoned their religion. What is the root cause? The fact is that the bible colleges have no word; they have no truth.

We, at Shincheonji Church of Jesus, are enlightening people with the word of truth. We pray that you too will receive the truth and be saved.

Shincheonji - 62 - The Specialists of Heresy & the Christianity in Korea

The correct understanding of the Bible and of Shincheonji (The New Heaven and New Earth)
This site and all of its content has been written according to the Bible. Our purpose is to instruct all Christians in a deeper knowledge of God’s word and to lead them to a deeper faith.

The Specialists of Heresy & Christianity in Korea

The population of Christians in Korea used to be 12 million, but why is it that it has dropped to 8.6 million? The number seemed to have started dropping since the Christian Council of Korea (“CCK” for short, established in 1989) began to conduct cult seminars for former congregation members of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, a group that the CCK has labeled as a cult. If the seminars that the CCK conducted were of God’s will, would there have been any reason for the decrease in the number of Christians? Whose will are they really carrying out if those seminars caused such a rapid decrease?

The CCK also asked Mr. Shin, a former member of Shincheonji, another group that they had labeled as a cult, to conduct cult seminars together with a former member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Did the CCK fail to find a person qualified for discerning cults within the CCK? Is that why they appointed former members of the groups that they labeled as cults, to carry out cult seminars? Or are they doing this so that everyone else can also be labeled as cults? All this becomes evidence that the CCK lacks the word (i.e. knowledge of the Bible) more than any cults. If this is not their reason, they must be conducting those seminars because they have already betrayed God, and also because they want to sabotage others.

Mr. Shin—why was he thrown outside of Shincheonji? He carried out the work of betrayal in Shincheonji, and now he is working together with the CCK to conduct seminars. The Bible testifies that we will receive salvation only by eating and drinking Jesus’ flesh and blood (Jn 6:51-57). It also teaches us that we will be able to gain what we have prayed for only by praying in Jesus’ name (Jn 14:13-14, 16:23). Furthermore, it is only with Jesus’ blood that people are purchased and made to be God’s kingdom and priests that reign here on earth (Rv 5:9-10). People are dressed in white, worship God in the temple with the water of life, and attain salvation, only by washing themselves with the blood of Jesus (Rv 7:13-14). This is the absolute covenant, the absolute truth that we as believers must keep.

Mr. Shin, the betrayer in Shincheonji, denied this truth. He attempted to flatter the Shincheonji chairman by claiming to the congregation members that they would acquire salvation by eating and drinking the Shincheonji chairman, Man Hee Lee’s flesh and blood, and that they would receive what they had prayed for by praying in Man Hee Lee’s name. Mr. Shin also proclaimed that even if he would be thrown outside for giving such testimonies, he would still continue to testify what he had said. Mr. Shin saying all this was filmed and put into a DVD. Unlike what he said at that time, Mr. Shin later formed a sect and carried out a coup d'état in Shincheonji with the purposes of expelling the Shincheonji chairman and sitting in his position. Consequently, Mr. Shin was banished from Shincheonji. Is he still supporting the Shincheonji chairman just as he had said he would? Or is he conducting seminars to curse the chairman? Those who see and hear what Mr. Shin is doing will be able to judge for themselves. Unlike his own words, he fabricated lies about Shincheonji and gave them to MBC PD Note, and he is now planting those lies into the hearts of all the citizens. How can this not be the act of planting weeds? His claims—that one must eat and drink the chairman’s flesh and blood to gain salvation, and that one must pray in his name to receive what he has prayed for—are defiances against Jesus, and making such claims is the act of betraying and opposing Jesus. Should we still regard him as someone who believes in Jesus then?

What kind of place is the CCK that it has appointed such a lawbreaker to stand on the pulpit, to have him conduct seminars, and to have other pastors come, listen, and believe what he says? Furthermore, those who spread lies saying that the Shincheonji chairman claims to be Jesus, or a founder of religion, or that he claims to be the spirit of Counselor, conducts the same kind of lawlessness as Mr. Shin. Why are people saying that a mere person is Jesus, a founder of religion, or the Holy Spirit? It seems that they are all filled with the same spirit, from the way that they are all speaking the same words. If the CCK curse and condemn us as a cult just because we are pointing out their wrong doctrines and policies, then they are no different from the Jewish priests, elders, the Pharisees, and Calvin.

God did not create the devil in the spiritual realm. How did the devil come to exist? In God’s kingdom, there was an angel who went against God with the greed of wanting to be exalted. He sinned against God and became the devil (Ez 28; Is 14:12-15; Rv 9; 2 Pt 2; all Jude). Similar incidents have occurred amongst the chosen people of God here on earth. Someone sins and is expelled from amongst God’s chosen people, and he unites with the fallen angel, the spirit of the devil, to carry out his work.

Shincheonji Church of Jesus is the twelve tribes of the kingdom of God and his creation promised in the New Testament. Mr. Shin left his position of authority and abandoned his own home (Jude 1:6) here at the twelve tribes (1 Jn 2:18-19). He took the way of Cain and Balaam (Jude 1:11) and formed a sect (Jude 1:17-19). Such actions are the actions of antichrists as recorded in the Scriptures. It is the actions of the antichrist to deceive the congregation members of the twelve tribes (Mt 24:24). This person has acted in accordance with what the Bible says regarding antichrists. According to the prophecies recorded in the Bible, destroyers and antichrists may have the same spirit that is controlling them, but originally were not of the same entity.

Today believers must find out who they are as according to the New Testament. If they reflect upon themselves the words of the books (of the Bible), they can know where they belong to—whether they belong to the betrayer, the destroyer, the savior, or the antichrist. The recorded words of the Bible and a person’s nature together prove where he belongs to. The Scripture cannot be broken (Jn 10:35). The end of the world does not refer to the destruction of this globe, but rather to the end of the world of true believers and the truth. Now, the world is corrupt, chaotic, and empty. Darkness has covered the light. Living water has dried up everywhere, and lies are preval‍ent all over. In the midst of this situation, Shincheonji upholds the will of heaven, and according to that will, it has become the true light for this darkness with the truth, the revealed word. Shincheonji is shining the world with absolute righteousness, justice, and truth. We in Shincheonji have determined in our hearts that at least we must hold onto Jesus and keep his words so that we can establish God’s house and his kingdom to serve him. We are making effort to be clothed in the utmost righteousness. Like solid rocks, we are enduring the rough and strong winds that blow against us. Every step and every breath we take, we pray that we will not stray away from the path of our Lord, and run towards our goal. We are not letting go of the Lord for one second, and are walking together with him. We are also sincerely praying that the Lord will not hold the sins of the persecutors against them, for they do not know us, and that the Lord will help them to perceive (Rv 5:8, 8:3-4; Acts 7:60).

Shincheonji - 63 - The People of Heaven who Are Born Again

The correct understanding of the Bible and of Shincheonji (The New Heaven and New Earth)
This site and all of its content has been written according to the Bible. Our purpose is to instruct all Christians in a deeper knowledge of God’s word and to lead them to a deeper faith.

The People of Heaven Who are Born Again

There are two kinds of seed: the seed of heaven and the seed of the earth. There are people born in heaven and people born on the earth. The one who comes from above speaks of what he has seen and heard in heaven, but the one who comes from the earth speaks of what he has seen and heard on the earth (Jn 3:31-34). This is how those who are born of the holy spirit are different from those who are born of the flesh.

It is through God’s seed and holy spirit that Christians are able to believe in Jesus and be born again (Jn 3:5-6; 1 Pt 1:23). People who have not been born again yet claim to believe are mere flesh born of the world (i.e. the earth). The mind of a sinful person cannot know the work of the holy spirit (Rom 8:5-11).

Buddhist monks shave their heads and go to temples in the mountains; they leave the world behind for the sake of their faith. The monks spend their days together at the temples, praying and committing themselves to live with Buddha. We can see similar devotion in Catholicism. Catholic priests and nuns make a similar commitment to leave the world behind them. They devote their entire lives at a monastery or a nunnery, praying to and meditating on the Lord of heaven. Their lives of faith are different from the way they lived before making such a spiritual commitment. Both groups live a new life, and they are “born again” as they commit themselves to Buddha or to the Lord of heaven. If their commitment is what the Lord of heaven wants, the Lord must be with them, and they, too, will be in the Lord.

Jesus sent out 70 disciples for evangelism purposes (Lk 10:1-2). The disciples returned with joy saying, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name!” Jesus replied, “Nevertheless, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names stand written in heaven,” (Lk 10:17-20). Jesus also said, “If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you do not belong to the world, but I chose you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you,” (Jn 15:19). God, the kingdom of heaven, and the angels came to Jesus during the time of the first coming (Mt 13:24, 3:16; Lk 3:22). For this reason, going to Jesus was the same as going to heaven and to God (Jn 14:6). Let us consider what the New Testament declares about God, Jesus, and the kingdom of heaven. The New Testament says that God, Jesus, and the kingdom of heaven descend upon the one who overcomes (Rv 3:12). If this is what the scriptures state, where must we go to meet God, Jesus, and heaven at the time of the second coming? Everyone who truly believes in the Bible should judge for him and herself and believe the truth.

Protestants today should stop denouncing Buddhism, Confucianism, Catholicism, and other newly rising denominations as “cults.” Instead of throwing stones at others, they should examine themselves whether their knowledge and actions surpass that of those whom they call heretics.

In their hearts, true believers must leave the sinful world and dwell in the Lord of heaven. The scriptures declare that friendship with the world is hostility toward God (Jas 4:4). We must resemble Apostle Paul and Apostle John, who received the revelation from heaven instead of the words of the world. Persecuting, criticizing, cursing, insulting, committing spiritual murder, lying to deceive others, and carrying out lawless acts must stop. These kinds of actions must be prohibited. Instead, through justice, love, forgiveness, faith, modesty, and mercy, let us become the light which reveals God’s truth to all people. Let us willingly offer our service and bless others to become believers acknowledged by God.

If we call Buddhist monks and Catholic priests and nuns heretics while our actions prove to be no better than theirs, what will God think of us? Just look at the Internet, it is obvious that the sheer volume of insults, curses, criticism, and persecution out there outweighs the words of truth. How can all these words of persecution be the words of righteousness? How can they be the Lord’s teaching?

Shouldn’t we speak words of righteousness and blessing instead of words that promote curses and persecution? Anyone who does not yet know the truth about righteousness can easily acquire the proper knowledge by asking and learning. How can we talk about others while we ourselves are not yet perfect? No one can pass judgment without verifying for themselves first. We must regard God’s point of view and his word as our standard for judgment rather than relying on our own standards.

To fulfill the Lord’s will, true believers must become citizens of heaven born again through the word and the holy spirit. We must leave the sinful world behind and live in the Lord. We must become people who do the work of the Lord on his behalf.

Shincheonji - 64 - Persecution and the True Life of Faith

The correct understanding of the Bible and of Shincheonji (The New Heaven and New Earth)
This site and all of its content has been written according to the Bible. Our purpose is to instruct all Christians in a deeper knowledge of God’s word and to lead them to a deeper faith.

Persecution and the True Life of Faith

Although we cannot see God, we believe in him through his word. We believe in God and his word because God's prophecies, which were given at various times over the last 6,000 years, have been and are being fulfilled. The fulfillment has become the evidence that allows us to believe in God.

There are people who truly believe in the words that God and Jesus promised in the New Testament, and there are others who claim to believe while persecuting the true believers (Mt 5:10-12).

In the time of the Old Testament, the Egyptians did not believe in God and persecuted the Physical Israelites, who were God’s chosen people (Ex 1 - 5). At the time of the first coming, instead of believing in Jesus, who came as spiritual Israel, the Physical Israelites persecuted him and his followers (Mt 5, 7; Jn 8; Acts 7:51-52). Today, in the same way, the vast majority of Korean Christians have failed to believe in the fulfillment of the New Testament prophecies. Instead of believing, they are persecuting Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which has been created in fulfillment of the promises in the Bible.

Shouldn't we see the faith of those who persecute and those who are persecuted from a biblical point of view? God and his son Jesus said in the scriptures that those who lie to, persecute, and curse others are false believers who belong to the devil (Mt 7:1-6; Jn 8:44). Just as the Jewish elders, priests, and people at the time of the first coming persecuted Jesus and his followers instead of believing, most Korean pastors and congregation members are persecuting Shincheonji by posting derogatory, libelous statements on their web pages and in Internet cafes.

Although many Shincheonji members have read those persecutory words, we will not waver. How can we stand firm? We know that those derogatory words did not come from God; we know God has nothing whatsoever to do with the persecution. All words of persecution and insults originate with the devil. Those who are persecuted are the people of heaven. They are the believers who will receive the blessings of heaven. If you look at people's actions and deeds in the way Jn 15:18-20 and Mt 5:1-10 point out, you will learn to recognize a tree by its fruit (Mt 7:15-20; Lk 6:43-45).

The words of God are life (Jn 1:1-4), and the words of persecution are death. With which word must we side to receive blessings (Dt 30:19-20)? Did God not command us to forgive, love, and bless others (Mt 18; 1 Jn 4)?

True believers, therefore, do not allow themselves to become victims of the slanderous words even if they read them. Because the persecutors belong to the devil, they follow the will his when they oppress others. If the work of persecution is performed by the devil, not by God, should we abandon the word, faith, and righteousness just because of receiving persecution? The words of persecution are not the truth. They are nothing but the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They are given by the serpent to harm our faith, and this is why we must refuse them (Gn 2:17).

Who believes the lies and insulting words created by the devil? If the Bible and Jesus' commandments were in their hearts, and if they were true believers, how could they post such disparaging comments on the Internet?

Shincheonji people, however, are keeping the words and commandments of God (Jn 14:23; Rv 1:1-3).
