What is the True Identity of the Tree of Life in Gn 2 and Rv 22?



There are two kinds of trees in Gn 2: the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil each represent people or pastors. The tree of life that appears in Gn 2 and Rv 22 each point to the same entity.

The tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil are located in the middle of the Garden of Eden (Gn 2:9). Revelation 22:2, however, only mentions the tree of life. The tree of life is on each side of the river, producing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month of the year. Its leaves are for the healing of all nations. Revelation 2 says that the fruit of the tree of life in the paradise of God will be granted to the one who overcomes the Nicolaitans. According to Paul, this paradise is the third heaven (2 Cor 12:1-4). A further clue can be found in Prv 3:18, where it says that those who obtain wisdom becoming trees of life.

What do the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil symbolize?

The tree of life represents the spirit of God, God’s pastors, and God’s people (Jn 15:1-8). The tree of the knowledge of good and evil, in contrast, represents the spirit of Satan, Satan’s pastors, and Satan’s people (Dn 4:20-22).

The word can be symbolized by a seed (Lk 8:11) and equated to life (Jn 1:4). Both God and Jesus are referred to as the word in the beginning (Jn 1:1; 1 Jn 1:1). As stated earlier, the tree of life symbolizes people created by the word of life and their holy spirits (Mt 13:31-32). The tree of the knowledge of good and evil, on the other hand, represents people created by the seed of weeds (sown by the devil) and their evil spirits (Mt 13:24-30, 37-39).

These two different groups respectively represent heaven and hell. Babylon, the figurative tree of the knowledge of good and evil, is the organization of demons (Rv 18:2). People’s spirits die if they eat the fruit of Babylon, which are its words (Gn 2:17). On the other hand, people obtain eternal life if they eat the fruit of the tree of life—if they eat the words of Jesus (Gn 3:22).

In conclusion, the fruit of the tree of life are the firstfruits harvested by the word of truth today (Jas 1:18). These are the firstfruits that belong to the Lamb (Rv 14:4). The twelve branches (the twelve tribes) of the the tree of life that bear twelve kinds of fruit (Rv 22:2) and the holy spirit can be found in SCJ Church of Jesus. Those who believe in this testimony will come and eat the food of eternal life.
